Mrs. Lowery,
Is there a way we can get this information out to students and parents?

Subject: Virtual FAFSA Completion/FSA ID Workshop Event - Roane State Community College
To:
The Financial Aid staff at Roane State will be hosting a Virtual FAFSA Completion/FSA ID Workshop Event on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Students will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a financial aid staff member to get their 2024-2025 and/or 2025-2026 FAFSA(s) filed accurately and timely. If they would like to participate, they will need to register. Please refer them to the webpage for registration deadlines. They may register by clicking on the following link: https://www.roanestate.edu/?12665-Virtual-FAFSA-Completion-Workshop
They can select a time that is most convenient for them. Sessions are 1 hour, and they may choose a time between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eastern. The cutoff time for registration is 24 hours before the appointment time. After they register, they will receive an email the day before the event inviting them to a Zoom meeting.
For the FAFSA session, they will need to have the following on hand:
• Social Security Number
• Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
• 2024-2025: 2022 Federal income tax returns, 2022 W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS FUTURE Act Direct Data Exchange (FA-DDX).)
• 2025-2026: 2023 Federal income tax returns, 2023 W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS FUTURE Act Direct Data Exchange (FA-DDX).)
• Also: Make sure both you and your parents/guardians have created an FSA ID. Please do this before the session.
An FSA ID is imperative for you and your parents/guardians to have access to the FAFSA. A FAFSA cannot be completed and submitted without one. You will only have to create your FSA ID once, as the same one will be used for future FAFSA completion.
Please email Chris Paul at paulcj@roanestate.edu with any questions you may have!
